Michael Chandler reveals his UFC 309 loss to Charles Oliveira left him in ‘the worst pain’ of his career… ‘peed blood, my whole body is swollen’
Nearly a week away from his rematch against Charles Oliveira at UFC 309, Charles Oliveira has admitted he is in the worst pain he has ever been in.
Since joining the UFC in 2021, Michael Chandler has been involved in a number of historic wars against the likes of Dustin Poirier, Justin Gaethje and now Charles Oliveira.
The 38-year-old hoped a win over 'Do Bronx' at UFC 309 would finally allow him to challenge for the undisputed lightweight title, but he fell short once again.

Michael Chandler reveals that losing at UFC 309 left him with the 'worst pain' of his life
The co-main event between 'Iron' Mike and the former champion proved to be an incredible five rounds of action, with Oliveira seeing the majority of the success aside from the final round.
In the fifth round, Chandler came inches away from scoring the come-from-behind finish as he ruled the Brazilian with ground and pound, which were seen by the majority at the time as illegal strikes to the back of the head.
Despite this, 'Do Bronx' once again showed his champion heart and managed to stay in the fight and went on to take the unanimous decision victory.
For the first time since his appearance, Chandler has revealed he is in “the worst pain” he has ever experienced during his long MMA career.
“I had a phenomenal training camp, we went to battle, we did our thing, my body was in the most pain I've ever been in, in my entire life, the most injuries I've had in a fight, for sure,” Chandler revealed on Bussin With The Boys.
“I have urinated blood, the inflammation all over my body is swollen. The New York (commission) drug tested me right before the fight and then after the fight, so it had a slight tinge (of blood), and the second one looked like beet juice,” he continued.
Michael Chandler reveals the date he wants to fight Conor McGregor
Despite the loss, Chandler still got the chance to talk to Joe Rogan in the Octagon after the fight.
With that, the all-action lightweight returned to Conor McGregor and once again called out the Irishman for his comeback fight.
However, the 38-year-old also briefly touched on a potential BMF title fight against Max Holloway, but since UFC 309, fans have been posing a fantasy matchup between Holloway and Oliveira now that 'Blessed' has announced his move to 155 pounds.
“I think Conor and I at International Fight Week are the next fight, that's what I'm throwing out there, I think June or July. I have to see what's going on with the body now, but I'll talk to Hunter (Campbell) in the next few days,” Chandler added.
At the UFC 309 post-fight press conference, UFC CEO Dana White stated that he doesn't think 'The Notorious' will return until late next year, if at all.
