Liverpool spent almost £ 300 million this summer and may add another £ 125 million with Alexander Isak, it is inevitable that the Reds should listen to offers for Harvey Elliott
Liverpool star Harvey Elliott has again revealed that he is open to leave the club. Elliott, 22, is reportedly a target for West Ham after a bittersweet season in Anfield.
The midfielder helped Arne Slot to win the Premier League title, but he only started six games in all competitions. Elliott reminded clubs of his magic during the European Championship under 21, while England managed their crown and the Liverpool star was appointed player of the tournament.
Elliott scored five goals from midfield, including in the final against Germany. After his return to Liverpool and travel with his teammates to Asia for their pre-season tour, the former Fulham Wonderkid thinks about an exit.
“Look, if I had it my way, I would be here for the rest of my career, it's as simple as that, I love everything at the club,” Elliott told the Anfield Wrap in Hong Kong.
“But at the same time I have to be a bit selfish with myself and see what is best for me. I have great ambitions. I want to go to the World Cup. As a player I want to continue to be successful.
“I think it is still something that I have to judge. I have to do a conversation with everyone, really and the situation because many new players have arrived, so I am not sure whether it is blocking the path for me, it is something that I have to decide and take a look.
“My most important focus is now. At the moment I am here for the season, as far as I know, unless something changes, we have a busy pre-season, it is non-stop, I have to make sure that I concentrate on it and just ready for everything.”
Does Liverpool have to sell Harvey Elliott? Say in the commentary part.
His departure could be at the perfect time for Liverpool, who spent a dazzling £ 300 million this summer and wants to earn a part of it due to sale. The Reds can also be about to place an £ 125 million offer from the British record in an attempt to praise Alexander Isak from Newcastle.
So far, Liverpool has signed seven players, a stark contrast with the quiet first transfer window of Slot. Hugo Ekitike became the last addition on Wednesday and joined Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong, Giorgi Mhamardashvili, Armin Pecsi and Freddie Woodman.
The Reds started with a friendly matches for the season with a 3-1 win over Preston North End. They are the next action against AC Milan on Saturday before they are confronted with Yokohama F. Marinos.
