Paddy Pimblett has become a social media user who continues to claim new fights for his return to the octagon.
The fan favorite looks set to make his comeback at UFC London in March, likely competing once again at the top of the rankings as he moves into the top 10 at lightweight. He has stated that a deal has been made and used Michael Chandler's catchphrase to tease fans.
However, a number of other rivals have been suggested for his eventual return, including Benoit St-Denis and others in the top ten. An official announcement has yet to be made, despite all the rumors on social media.
Paddy Pimblett confirms UFC comeback plan with cheeky reference
In a recent upload to his YouTube channel, Paddy Pimblett dropped an easter egg after confirming he has agreed to an opponent for his return to action. He earned his spot in the rankings with a win over King Green at UFC 304 in Manchester, but has been out of action since.
“People have been speculating about who I'm fighting, this and that,” he told the cameras. “I'm coming for that belt, so I'm looking for higher ranked fighters. I'm sure you'll see a battle announcement soon enough.
“I said yes, the opponent said yes, I just have to get things signed. So you all know the score… And I'll see you at the top!”
Michael Chandler famously uses the catchphrase “see you at the top,” and those five words alone drove viewers wild in the comments section. There was speculation, but then other social media users claimed he might have a different name.
Paddy Pimblett has hit back at the social media user who made three fake fight announcements
One user MMA fans will be familiar with is Rueben Carter, who goes by the username realruebenking. He regularly posts speculative combat news, but insists it be signed, sealed and delivered only to be debunked.
He has had three rounds of 'broken news' about Pimblett's UFC London opponent, claiming he was facing Chandler, St-Denis and Mateusz Gamrot. This eventually reached 'The Baddy', who came across it in a message on X.

“I don't know why people are even paying attention to this absolute helmet on this page,” Pimblett wrote in a tweet that was viewed almost half a million times in about 24 hours. “He has no idea what he's talking about.”
It's unclear whether the Carter account is a troll or not, but his response to the post seems to indicate that he is, taking aim at the UFC star's political beliefs.
