Havertz may need surgery after suffer knee injury, confirms international chief

Arsenal -striker Kai Havertz can require surgery for a knee injury that he sustained in the collision of the club with Man United.

The German attacker appeared as a second half replacement in Old Trafford during the opening weekend and was then omitted from the team for the victory of the club on Leeds on Saturday.

Mikel Arteta later revealed that the extent of Havertz's injury had not yet been confirmed because the Gunners boss sweated over his fitness.

Now, with an international break around the corner, Rudi Voller, the national team director of the gentlemen at the German FA, has unveiled that Havertz will not play a role in their upcoming world cup qualifications with Slovakia and Noord -IERLAND.

Voller added that surgery remains a possibility for the 26-year-old.

“He will certainly not make it, he has a knee injury,” said Voller.

“We don't know exactly how it will go in the coming weeks, whether an operation is coming or it will be treated conservatively.”

Havertz has passed a campaign that was disrupted by injury when Arsenal took a third consecutive second one under Mikel Arteta last season.

During a training camp in the middle season in Dubai in February, Havertz stopped with a hamstring injury and left Arteta without a recognized striker.

After having undergone surgery for the issue, Havertz was out for three months before he returned to make Cameo performances of the bank in the last two Premier League matches of the club's season.

Havertz arrived in North London in the summer of 2023 after a three-year stint in Chelsea who saw him win the Champions League in 2021.

In 88 games in all matches for the Gunners, he scored 29 times.
