Tottenham -stars all did not wear any socks for training prior to their Europa League collision with AZ Alkmaar.
Many are perhaps confused by the different set – but it was for a good reason.
The players of Ange Postecoglou prepared for their round of 16 seconds when they wore the non -uncomfortable socks.
The reason behind the choice of different socks was to increase consciousness for World Down Syndrome Day on March 21.
A club statement was: “We proudly support the Awareness Week of Down Syndrome, with our first team players for men and ladies who today train in colorful non -uncomfortable socks.
“Wearing non -relevant socks is the perfect way to show that no two people are the same – regardless of the number of chromosomes they have.
“People around the world are encouraged to participate by 'rocking their socks' on Thursday, March 21, World Down Syndrome Day.
“Our players wore a series of colorful non -about -aging socks, supplied by Nike, during a session attended by young people with Down's syndrome and their families.”
In the meantime, there were some concern about traces prior to the collision against Alkmaar.
The side of Noord-London lost the first stage with 1-0 in Holland after Lucas Bergvall's own goal.
Postcoglou was signed Kevin Danso without January, which was not seen.
The manager admitted: “Kevin got a hamstring injury in the last game, so he's gone.”
Forward Richarlison also trained alone as he builds his fitness.
The Europa League is the last chance of Spurs to win silverware this season after outputs in the FA Cup and Carabao Cup.
It also represents the only likely access to European football for the 2025/26 season.
In the Postecoglou press conference he was asked if he regretted that he had made the claim that he always wins a trophy in his second season with a club.
He said: “My opinion has always been when you have asked something, you answer it.
“People used it for their own purposes to distinguish that I made a daring claim. I just had a fact [about the past].
“If we win a trophy this season, some people can say:” Oh it is not nice that he did that after he had made such a daring claim. “
“It wasn't.
“People will just use it the way they want, regardless of circumstances.”
