Heavy hitter who pushed Brock Lesnar to the limit announced his UFC arrival with a stunning 44-second KO

The heavyweight division of the UFC has been home to monstrous punchers with a new powerful power that made his name on this day in 2008.

UFC 84 on 24 May in the MGM Grand Garden Arena was full of impressive knockout victories.

Long before Wanderlei Silva Keith Jardine put in the opening minute, the night was kicked off by a debuting hunter who would be to become an interim champion.

Shane Carwin achieved great success during his short career, where he was one of the most feared punchers in the sport.

Before he would climb to the top of the division, where he brought Brock Lesnar through hell at UFC 116, the One-Punch Knock-Outartist had to announce himself to the fans.

Shane Carwin sent the mouthpiece of Christian Wellic Flying with a one-shot knockout on UFC 84

By the time a 34-year-old Shane Carwin arrived in the UFC, he had already built up a reputation as a dangerous fight finisher.

With a record of 8-0, each of his victories had arrived in the very first round, a streak that he would keep until his first loss where he was submitted in 2010 by Brock Lesnar at UFC 116.

Carwin's Octagon debut saw him compete against the Christian Wellic, born in Hungarian, who had three UFC fights under his belt.

Wellic was stopped by Cheick Congo during his debut and was reflected with victories over Anthony Perosh and Scott Junk before he looked to make it three-in-one-row on UFC 84.

Unfortunately, he was instructed to welcome one of the most difficult batters in the UFC history, and although both men had any success early, the only thing that was a clean shot by Carwin was to close the show.

A clearly train -like right hand sent Velisch's mouthpiece flying with the fight that was knocked away in just 44 seconds.

Shane Carwin's career was completely derailed by injuries

After having had his first loss at UFC 116, the next outing of Shane Carwin would see him go to the score cards for the first time in a defeat against Junior Dos Santos.

The former interim -heavyweight champion was then confronted with various injuries that would continue to slow down his return to the Octagon.

In the end, this led Carwin to retire in 2013, slightly less than two years after his last UFC fight with 'JDS'.

He would be linked to various comebacks with people like Rizin and Bellator, but nothing has ever come for the devastating striker.
