Heidenheim 0-2 Chelsea: Enzo Maresca’s side continue perfect run in Europe thanks to Filip Jorgensen heroics
Chelsea continued their perfect run in the Europa Conference League thanks to a heroic performance from Filip Jorgensen in goal after Christopher Nkunku's opener.
Both teams came into this match with impeccable records in the first three matches – and it was clear why.
Paul Wanner had the best of chances in the first half after firing a shot towards Chelsea's goal but was denied by the strong hand of Filip Jorgensen, in what would be a masterclass in goalkeeping from both goal stoppers.
Mudryk was convinced he should have been awarded a penalty, after being sandwiched between two Heidenheim defenders, but his appeal was rejected – even after the referee was instructed to look at the monitor.
Kevin Müller made five saves to keep Chelsea at bay before half-time, but could do nothing for Nkunku's opener as the striker controlled the ball well and coolly slotted it into the back of the net.
His counterpart on the night was also heavily involved and was the main reason the Blues maintained their slim lead after a wasteful finish in front of goal.
Jorgensen made nine saves to keep his side ahead but was beaten twice, only to be saved each time by the offside flag.
Mudryk then closed out the match with a stunning finish into the top corner to extinguish any threats of an upset.
