There was a temporary break in the UFC Fight Night: KAPE vs Almabayev broadcast when the MMA promotion led to a Bonified -legend of the sport.
Last month, after having sustained an injury that unfortunately forced him from his last fight against Rob Font, the iconic Dominick Cruz announced his retirement from MMA.
The former double Bantam weight champion is generally considered one of the most naturally skilled and influential hunters in UFC history.
However, not everyone is happy that his broadcast took place at the Apex, unlike a crowded arena full of screaming fans.

UFC brings tribute to Dominick Cruz after announcing retirement
During UFC Vegas 103, Jon Anik stepped into the Octagon to call the action a short standstill, so that the promotion could tribute to the former champion and Future Hall of Famer, Dominick Cruz.
“His style can be replicated, it will never be duplicated,” greeted Anik, and acknowledged: “Cruzzy did his way like Frank Sinatra, and his legacy is anchored as one of the best of all time.”
Cruz, who bows with a professional record of 24-4, was understandably stunned by the moving video package that not only emphasized his countless UFC career performance, but also the impact he has had on this new generation of athletes.
“Ah man, never ready for that – love you, thank you … everything I can say is, I don't know what to say, I am speechless … It certainly did it [strike a nerve]I really appreciate love. “
While the video package itself, and the words of Jon Anik, were as moving as they were accurate; Fans are divided on the fact that the tribute took place in the top, rather than for 18,000+ fans in a legitimate arena.
UFC fans claim that pension tribute should have been thousands
Nobody denies that Dominick Cruz will soon be included in the UFC Hall of Fame, nor that the video – first -time was not justified – is the problem that it took place in the Apex.
On the one hand, showing the tribute was logical last night because UFC Vegas 103 was the first time that Cruz was shown at the comment office, because the news about his retirement hit the air waves.
On the other hand, Cruz is such a legendary figure in sport that he earned a standing ovation from tens of thousands of fans, instead of just a hundred or so in 'The Warehouse of Dreams'.
“Nice retirement send video for the legend Dominick Cruz. But come on, that would have been so much better for a crowd of 1000s fighting fans who gave him a standing ovation instead of the top. Cruz deserves better. “
“Dominick Cruz Tribute Video in The Apex seems to be Hella disrespectful,” wrote one fan on X, with another who “adds this tribute to Cruz, should not take place at the top.”
“I understand that there is a limited schedule, but a Dominick Cruz pension package earned 16,000 fans who welcomed him in the building while he walked away. Why not save for next week at UFC 313? “
“A bit lame that they give Cruz a tribute during a fighting evening. Whether you like him or not, he deserves to be recognized on a numbered TBH event. “
A sub-par location for a real legendary UFC hunter; Happy pension, Dominick Cruz.
