Henderson: Alexander-Arnold’s Liverpool legacy will ‘live forever’

Former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson sent his best wishes to Trent Alexander-Arnold prior to the approaching exit of the defender of the club.

Liverpool confirmed on Monday that Alexander-Arnold would leave the club after the expiry of his contract.

The International of England made 352 performances for Liverpool in competitions, with its trophy collection with two Premier League titles and the Champions League 2018-19.

Alexander-Arnold leaves Anfield after he has registered more assists (64) than any other defender in the history of Premier League.

Henderson played seven seasons together with Alexander-Arnold, where the couple played a crucial role in the success of the Reds under Jurgen Klopp.

After 20 years at Liverpool Football Club it is now time for me to confirm that I will leave at the end of the season.

This is easily the most difficult decision I have ever made in my life.

I know that many of you have wondered why or frustrated that I have not talked about this … pic.twitter.com/emaw5rvxq0

“What a trip! Thank you for everything! Everyone knows what the club means to you, and your inheritance will live forever,” Henderson commented on the social media of Alexander-Arnold who confirms the news of his departure.

“The scouser in our team !! Good luck with the next chapter! We will support you all.”

Alexander-Arnold is expected to complete a free transfer to Real Madrid, with speculation around moving to the Spanish capital that has become intensification in recent months.

The 26-year-old has received some criticism from some Liverpool fans as the situation continues.

On Monday, the former Liverpool-Trouwe Jamie Carragher wrote in the Telegraph: “By leaving Liverpool, Alexander-Arnold makes it harder for his own club to win his 21st competition title and seventh European Cup. That will certainly create emotions.

“The unconditional support for Alexander-Arnold enjoyed the head when he was completely dedicated to Liverpool disappeared.”
