Henry Cejudo is ‘smelling an upset’ ahead of massive fight at UFC 314

Henry Cejudo thinks the UFC world is still sleeping on Paddy Pimblett.

Former Cage Warriors champion Paddy 'The Paddy' Pimblett succeeded for his first test against ranked opposition on UFC 304 last summer with an entry from King Green of 202 seconds.

Pimblett caught the expert green in a triangular choke for his sixth consecutive victory in the UFC, so that the prospect deserved a song next to his name and a shot on #7-ranged Michael Chandler.

Chandler vs. Pimblett is planned for the Co-Main event of UFC 314 this Saturday and Cejudo smells 'upset'.

Henry Cejudo predicts Paddy Pimblett to beat Michael Chandler

Well, it is not really upset according to the grooves. From this writing, Pimblett is a small -155 favorite over Chandler, the more experienced veteran and triple Bellator champion.

Nevertheless, Henry Cejudo loves those opportunities and Pimblett picks together with first title champion Diego Lopes on UFC 314.

“I smell a upset,” said Cejudo on the podcast of 4 pounds.

“Paddy Pimblett, I think he will bring in the wrestling,” Cejudo continued. “I think he could watch this guy.

“If he can't get Michael Chandler down, he will have to do that more likely. But I just feel like Paddy Pimblett, he is a lot better than what I thought and what he could do with Bobby Green, his transition gear. We have to give some respect in the name of that guy. And he just got better, bro.”

Half of the 22 career extraction of Pimblett came through submission. The scouser is never eliminated, where he tends to remind people.

'UFC knows what they are doing' with Michael Chandler vs. Paddy Pimblett

This is the first five -round fight of Pimblett in the UFC, the #12 lightweight competition has gone three times the championship distance in Cage Warriors.

Chandler has a wealth of experience in championship fights, from Bellator Wars with Eddie Alvarez to a failed UFC title against Charles Oliveira.

That said, the former world champion comes there at the age of 38 and fights a hungry up-and-comer closer to the end of his illustrious career.

Cejudo calls it the way he sees it.

“I just feel with Michael Chandler, I think the UFC knows what they are doing …” said Cejudo.

“They do a five -rounder. I think about it. I think Paddy Pimblett is much better than what we think. I smell a upset here.

“I really believe that this, a victory over Michael Chandler, could bring him to a really good position,” said Cejudo about the 30-year-old Pimblett.

“He could be one fight to fight for the title …”

Henry Cejudo says that former BMF champion and top candidate Justin Gaethje can be a potential next opponent for Paddy Pimblett with a victory over Michael Chandler.
