Arsenal has to raise money by selling players before they can afford to buy the top quality, Mikel Arteta Craves and Darren believes that he has found the best option
Arsenal should sell Gabriel Jesus in the summer transfer window to finance new attacking arrivals, according to Darren Bent. Jesus will not continue to play this season for the Gunners, who sustained a serious knee injury in mid -January.
He struggled with injuries during his time in North Londs and managed to complete only 90 minutes in the Premier League in the Premier League in 2024/25. The International Brazil cost Arsenal £ 45 million from Manchester City in the summer of 2022, but did not realize its invoicing and has returned only 26 goals in 96 performances for the club.
Jesus has left for two years from his current contract, but his future at Arsenal looks uncertain after another underwhelming campaign in which he managed seven goals and two assists in 27 games. Arsenal is looking for a new striker, in which their team depth problems became clear after Jesus and Kai Havertz were injured.
They have previously pursued Alexander Isak from Newcastle, RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko and Athletic Bilbao's Nico Williams and Mikel Arteta, have confirmed that they will be busy this summer. The Gunners must sell to be able to afford a top quality center and are believed that Jesus is the most obvious option to load.
He said on Talksport: “Gabriel Jesus. He must go. I think he will be the first to go, Gabriel Jesus. Because if I think on the left [Leandro] Trossard and [Gabriel] Martinelli.
“You keep Trossard for an option from the bank, but not as a starter; he plays too many minutes. You have Trossard and Martinelli on the left.
“Center-forward, you have overtz at the moment and Gabriel Jesus. Gabriel Jesus can go. On the right you have [Bukayo] Saka and [Ethan] Nwaneri. It is that center-forward role, I think, it should be viewed. “
Arteta has often defended Jesus against criticism of his meager goal figures that this season have only read three in 17 Premier League matches, but he knows that the club must be ambitious in the coming transfer window if they have to close the 12-point gap to Liverpool in 2025/26.
“It will be a big one and we are very enthusiastic about it,” said Arteta Monday. “When you go again, we want to increase the depth of the team and the quality and skills we need to go to the next step.
“Every summer is high because it is a chance and especially because of the number of players we currently have in the team, that is necessary. But it is a big summer for many things because we first have to maintain the good foundations that we have and of course how we can improve and evolve the team.”
