‘He’s way heavier’… Jake Paul set for meeting with ex-champion boxer Canelo Alvarez brutally knocked out

Jake Paul meets with a former WBA boxing champion as speculation builds about the polarizing star's next fight.

Jake Paul is fresh off a decisive victory over heavyweight boxing great Mike Tyson in his latest in-ring appearance. While 58-year-old Tyson got off to a good start, Paul controlled most of the action in the ring, but that hasn't stopped conspiracy theories from running rampant.

Paul ponders his next step after beating Tyson. He could potentially be eyeing a rematch with Tommy Fury, who handed him his first professional boxing defeat last year. Fury is now available after withdrawing from his scheduled January fight against former UFC star Darren Till.

Paul, who has fought the majority of his most recent boxing matches at cruiserweight, could potentially return to the weight class for his next fight. But he would meet a former boxing star who is considerably smaller in stature.

Jake Paul invites Amir Khan to a meeting to possibly discuss the next fight

In a recent interview with Carl Froch, former light welterweight boxing champion Amir Khan revealed that he is meeting with Paul and his management.

“His manager and Jake want to meet me in Abu Dhabi. He is much heavier than me, I don't think I would ever get in the ring [at that weight],” said Khan. But let's see what they say! You fight that battle all day long.

Khan was recently linked with a possible exhibition against Manny Pacquiao, although at the time of writing, fight talks had stalled. He has not appeared in the ring since falling to Kell Brook in February 2022.

After a blistering start to his career at 31-3, Khan suffered a huge knockout loss to Canelo Alvarez in 2016, falling short of the WBC and The Ring middleweight titles. Back-to-back wins earned him a match against Terence Crawford, in which he lost via TKO in the sixth round.

A new opponent is emerging for Jake Paul's next fight

At the time of writing, it is uncertain whether Paul has invited Khan to train with him for his next camp, or if they are brainstorming about making a possible fight happen. If Paul does face Khan, it will likely take place around 185 pounds, a weight Paul fought at last year against former UFC superstar Nate Diaz.

During his boxing career, Khan was at one point one of the best fighters in boxing, scoring memorable victories over Chris Algieri, Zab Judah and Paul McCloskey. He won the WBA light-welterweight title by defeating Andreas Keotelnik in 2009.

If Khan is Paul's next intended opponent, it may be his toughest test yet. Before defeating Tyson, Paul had recent victories over Ryan Bourland, Andre August and UFC legend Anderson Silva. Paul retired from influencer boxing after not fighting a fellow influencer since 2020.

For now, Paul vs. Khan only speculative, although we may get more clarity on Paul's next fight in the coming weeks.
