Highest-paid PL players revealed as Haaland signs City deal worth £26M per year

ERLING HAALAND'S stunning new £500,000-a-week deal has made the Norwegian the highest-paid Premier League player EVER.

Manchester City have announced that the goalscoring machine has signed a ten-year contract worth £26 million per season.

The 24-year-old's record deal, which runs until 2034, has knocked City teammate Kevin De Bruyne from his place as the Prem's top earner.

It takes the total value to almost £250 million and surpasses Chelsea's nine-year deal for Cole Palmer, making it the longest contract in Prem history.

Haaland, who was previously contracted until 2027, has proven to be a phenomenon at City, scoring 111 goals in just 126 games since joining from Borussia Dortmund for £50m in the summer of 2022.

And now SunSport has taken a look at the revised 10 top earners following the massive new contract of two-time Golden Boot winner Haaland.

10) Kai Havertz 280k per week

Arsenal paid an initial £60 million and a further £5 million in potential add-ons to sign Havertz from Chelsea in the summer of 2023.

He usurped Gabriel Jesus as the highest-paid player at the Emirates and his contract also includes another £50,000-a-week in potential bonuses.

The Germany international silenced his critics in his debut season but faced horrific abuse from Arsenal fans for his poor finishing as Mikel Arteta's men were dumped out of the FA Cup by Man Utd last Sunday.

=7) Jack Grealish 300k per week

Jack Grealish, 29, signed a £300,000-a-week contract when he joined City in a £100m deal from Aston Villa in 2021.

He is the third highest paid man in Pep Guardiola's squad, but 15 goals in 145 games is below what many expected.

=7) Bruno Fernandes – £300,000 per week

Before Amad Diallo's recent heroics, club captain Fernandes was one of the few Man Utd players worth their salt.

The midfielder has been Old Trafford's standout in recent years, winning the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Season award in 2019/20, 2020/21 and 2023/24.

The Portugal international now earns a basic salary of £300,000 per week, which equates to around £15.6 million per year. He can also get another £75,000 a week in bonuses.

=7) Bernardo Silva £300,000 per week

You'll notice that City account for a significant portion of this list.

Silva was offered a £500,000-a-week contract by Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal in 2023, but he turned down that lucrative offer and signed a contract extension with City.

The Portuguese winger has previously been linked with a move away as his current contract with City expires next summer.

=5) Marcus Rashford – £325,000 per week

Marcus Rashford earns £25,000 more per week than club captain Fernandes, putting him second on Man Utd's books.

But the England international, 27, has been dropped from Ruben Amorim's squad and has been linked with several January moves.

The Wantaway star has fallen out with yet another United manager, telling Henry Winter: “I'm ready for a new challenge.”

=5) Raheem Sterling – £325,000 per week

Raheem Sterling's eye-watering wages are currently split between Chelsea and his seasonal loan club Arsenal.

Reports suggest that both London clubs are paying the former Man City winger, who has scored just one goal this season, around £162,500 per week.

If he is forced to return to Stamford Bridge this summer, he will replace Reece James as Chelsea's top earner.

=3) Mohammed Salah

It remains to be seen whether the Egyptian, 32, who joined in 2017, will leave in the summer.

Liverpool fans are desperate for Salah, who has scored 38 goals in 29 appearances this season, to sign a new contract as Saudi Arabian clubs ramp up their activities.

=3) Casemiro – £350,000 per week

Casemiro, 32, impressed after joining United from Real Madrid for £70million but quickly endured a torrid 2023/24 season in which he received huge criticism.

But the five-time Champions League winner has been reduced to just 21 appearances this season – and mostly from the bench.

2) Kevin De Bruyne 400k per week

De Bruyne's title as the highest-paid Premier League player was taken away this week following Haaland's new contract.

The 33-year-old Man City man will go down as one of English football's all-time greats when he leaves at the end of his contract this summer after ten incredible years at the Etihad.

1) Erling Haaland – £500,000 per week

No Prem player before Haaland has ever earned more than HALF A MILLION QUID in weekly wages.

After signing his record-breaking contract, Haaland said: “I'm super happy. I'm proud. It's hard to put into words because it's a big moment. I'm happy and that's the right word to use.

“In the end, given the hunger and support I have received from the board, from the bosses and from Pep over the years, it was an easy decision. I am very happy.”

The Norwegian superstar, who has scored the most goals for his country at the age of 24, earns £71,000 a day.
