Manchester United is expected to try to load different fringe players before next week's transfer deadline and Napoli is working on a deal to bring in Rasmus Hojlund
Rasmus Hojlund may be close to an exit of Manchester United, but the young striker is still 'desperate' to stay in Old Trafford despite the big money that Benjamin Sesko signed.
Hojlund, 22, joined United in the summer of 2023 for £ 72 million, but has only scored 14 Premier League goals in the past two seasons. And with United expenditure of more than £ 200 million to a new front line from Sesko, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo this summer, it is no secret that Hojlund is now effectively excess for requirements.
With Ruben Amorim for sure to install Sesko as his No. 1 striker in the coming weeks, Hojlund has been the subject of strong importance of Napoli and a deal to bring the former Atalanta man back to Italy, initially on loan, is now at an advanced stage.
The post report that would be by far the preference of Hojlund to stay and to fight for his place in United – even after he had been omitted from the match day for the 1-1 draw of Sunday with Fulham.
Although Hojlund that earlier stay is not ideal for United, it is expected that he will still leave Old Trafford before the Deadline of 1 September. He and other Fringe players will probably perform in the competition of Wednesday evening with Grimsby Town, who could prove to be his last game for the club.
United wants to make the sale after having spent great this summer and is willing to take an important hit on Hojlund; They have agreed a package worth € 45 million (£ 39 million) with Napoli, who will commit to an obligation to permanently sign the DANE after his first loan.

The reluctant farewell to Hojlund could take place in Grimsby when United went to Lincolnshire on Wednesday evening. Changes compared to the weekend competition with Fulham are expected, but Amorim would not be attracted to commentary on individuals.
“All players are available,” Amorim said in his press conference for the game. “Then we make the choice to try to get the best starting XI to win every game. We have three games this week and we have quality players and we have to do rotation to win every game.”
