Houston Dynamo v Los Angeles FC: ‘The next game can’t come quickly enough’ – Olsen

Houston Dynamo's head coach, Ben Olsen, itches to take action again while looking for their first victory of the MLS season against Los Angeles FC on Saturday.

Houston is in second place of the soil in the Western Conference and has earned only two points this season, although both similarity have come on the road.

They are one of the only five Windless teams in MLS and in this match come on the back of a 3-1 defeat against Portland Timbers.

Olsen did not apologize for the start of the dynamo of the season and insisted that his team was busy going for their fans in Shell Energy Stadium.

“We just look forward to another game,” he said. “It is another chance to turn the season, so the game cannot happen fast enough.

“It's nice to be at home. It is something we want to build at home. It was not good enough; it was not last year, and we did not send the fans home happily, but hopefully this will be the weekend.”

Lafc is now eighth in the table, after he has won three and lost three of their games so far.

They lost the last time-out in MLS and did not succeed in destroying a 3-0 deficit in their 3-2 loss for San Diego FC, but they enter this match and have defeated Inter Miami in the Concacaf Champions Cup Thursday.

Despite a tough version in which they held a clean slate against the team led by Lionel Messi, Steve Cherundolo still emphasized Lafc's need to improve on the road, especially if they are in charge of protecting.

“The only thing we have to improve is that once you are on the score, it is tempting to just finish the counterattacks, but you still have to occupy the opponent with possession,” he said.

“That is extremely important. We will want to improve and learn that from our mistakes and apply that in the future.”

Players to watch

Houston Dynamo – Amine Bassi

This season, the Dynamo has only managed 10 shots on goal through six games, the least to six games of a season since OPTA started detailed data collection from MLS in 2010.

Amine Bassi has not only scored once this season, but is only one of the three who has had more than one shot on goal so far. Of those three players, he has the highest expected goals (1.01 xg).

Los Angeles FC – Hugo Lloris

After only 40 minutes in San Diego FC, Los Angeles FC was 3-0 down on Saturday, with Hugo Lloris struggling against their early attack.

It was the third fastest Lafc who admitted three goals of the kick -off in a regular season match and the fastest, because in August 2021 it all made three goals in 36 minutes against Sporting Kansas City.

Match -Forecast: Draw

The Dynamo has held clean sheets in each of their last four regular seasonal meetings with Los Angeles FC (W3 D1). No other team has held clean sheets in more than two straight league matches against Lafc.

Both Houston points were earned on the road this season, because they have lost each of their first three home games of a season for the first time in club history. In the meantime, Lafc has lost seven of their last 19 regular seasonal matches that go back until mid -July. They gave 23 goals in the seven defeats (3.3 per match) while they only allowed five goals in the other 12 games (0.4 per match).
