All Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike made their competitive debut, most in one game since Liverpool since February 2020 when there were five new faces against Shrewsbury.

The performances of Kerkez and Dominik Szoboszlai saw two Hungarians play in a Reds side for the first time, while Oliver Glasner played a palace of the palace in their very first community shield.

Liverpool are veterans of the traditional Curtain Raiser, who played in 25 earlier editions and won 16, but they had only triumphed once in their last six attempts.

Ekitike's early debut strike

The Eagles will have taken more hope of the fact that seven of the last nine winners of the trophy had won the FA Cup in May, and the South Londers had won on four of their last six visits to the famous old stadium.

Liverpool, pre-game favorites, brought the game to their opponents of the opening whistle with particularly involved Kerkez.

Palace's 4-4-2 held up until the fourth minute when a 22-Pass movement followed by an assist from Wirtz and some sparkle of Ekitike saw the latter the ball along the desperate dive of Dean Henderson to open the score.

It was Liverpool's first goal in a final since the sentence of Mo Salah against Tottenham in the 2019 Champions League final, and their fastest in a community shield since Gary Mcallister in 2001 against Manchester United.

72.5% owned in the opening changes was a fair reflection of the dominance of the Reds, which swarms on the Eagles on every occasion.

Another stunning movement in the 13th minute almost ended in a second, the offside flag and Henderson at full length that Cody Gakpo denied. Almost immediately Palace broke the other end and although Alisson Jean-Phillipe Mateta denied in a one-on-one, the striker buried a subsequent punishment after Ismaila Sarr was felled by Virgil van Dijk.

It was his 31st under Glasner, and only Alexander Isak (38), Mo Salah (40) and Erling Haaland (50) have more goals since the Austrian had themselves at the Eagles at the Eagles on February 24, 2024.

Palace's first attempt on Target, despite playing less than 40 passes in the game at that time,, however, it seemed to galvanize their support in 20 minutes, with fans of Liverpool applying their previous number 20 Diogo Jota, Jeremie Frimpong's speculative cross, in the back of the net ended.

As a spectacle, the competition had already delivered more entertainment than many of the previous editions of the Shield, and although the Eagles had only had 35.5% after 36 minutes, they started to make a match of it, Hughes will vomit in midfield and Mateta in midfield.

Salah with only six touches of the ball in the same time frame – and none in the penalty box – indicated how good Glasner's side had neutralized the threat of the Egyptian king.

Perfect Jones

Kerkez's preference to get ahead, saw him later exposed in half, with Daniel Munoz lagging behind. Despite hectares of space every time he fell forward, the Colombian could not give a remarkable crosses because a poor accuracy of 77.8% would confirm.

Ekitike had almost a second right at the start of the second half, his point-blank header led somehow wide, Liverpool continued to stroke the ball around.

The excellent as a modest contribution from Curtis Jones was shown in his 53 completed steps of 53 attempt at – the only player on the field with 100% accuracy.

All Munoz action

Palace still threatened with Munoz's All -action performance -seven duels won with the hour was at least three more than any other player on both sides, including a comic coming together with the referee while trying to chase a loose ball.

The influence of Salah was also noticeable, and his 10 touches in the second half in the 60 minutes were just as much as he had in the opening 45, while Wirtz's four chances and 24 fit in the last third were the most visible with half an hour to play.

A free header from the Chris Richards of Palace, where Alisson was the same, gave the Reds a push that they were not yet at home and dry, and the Brazilian was also in the right place at the right time to deny Eze shortly thereafter.

The best period of the game of the South Londers in terms of printing and property followed, and Sarr's Superb Finish brought them level with 14 to play. A handball from Alexis Mac Allister was not punished with another palace sentence, and Salah's left finish just after that really should have seen a third Liverpool goal.

Pendulum swing

13 Schoten to the 11 van Liverpool showed that the pendulum was certainly waved in the direction of the Underdogs, and the last phases of the game ended with both teams trying to bypass a busy midfield.

A midfield where Will Hughes and Adam Wharton had disputed 14 duels and where Szoboszlai van Liverpool, Wirtz and Jones had made more than 160 passes between them, with a lowest completion rate of 87.3%.

Punish

Penalties were needed to determine the game, the third time in the last four community -shield performances of the Reds that this happened.

At the end of Liverpool, Salah was the first to perform and balloon over the bar, but Mateta was not so dissolute and gave the Eagles an immediate advantage.

Henderson's brilliant full-length Save of Mac Allister was matched by Allison from Eze, before Gakpo and Sarr traded successful spot kicks.
