AMAD DIALLO was the star of the show in the Manchester derby as he emerged as the match winner to cap off a great show.
The winger was a threat for Manchester United throughout and could finally help unlock the Red Devils' potential.
Amad's impressive performances since manager Ruben Amorim's arrival could make him key to Man United's future.
Should he continue the form he showed against Manchester City, he could be one of the next Premier League stars.
Here, our tactical expert Dean Scoggins – from SunSport YouTube show Tactics Exposed – dissects how Amad can continue to improve and what United did to leave Pep Guardiola scratching his head again.
1. Turn the alternator
AMAD has shown his good skills under Amorim, having already played as a right back and as a right forward.
He was a striker against Manchester City, but he also managed to excel defensively.
The attacker scored the winner with his quick thinking and won the penalty for the equalizer.
He was the biggest threat as he scored four shots, which was the most of any Man United player in the match.
Amad also won the ball back five times, which was the second best of all his teammates.
The players are learning to play a new system under Amorim and were able to control possession against Manchester City.
The way they played from the back compressed the game, creating danger behind the current champions.
And it is this space that Amad was able to exploit at the Etihad Stadium.
2. Double team Haaland
THE Norwegian goal machine went into the derby match with six goals against Manchester United.
However, against the Red Devils he looked a shadow of his former self due to the way the defenders positioned him.
Erling Haaland was limited to just two touches in Man United's penalty area throughout the match as defenders kept him at bay.
The defense of Harry Maguire, Matthijs de Ligt and Lisandro Martinez communicated brilliantly.
Maguire was the main man dealing with him, but depending on which side the other defender would join in to double him.
Man United and Amorim deserve credit for turning the defense into a solid unit.
3. Pep's head scratches
PEP GUARDIOLA has done some wild things in the past, but Matheus Nunes, at full-back, is among the strangest.
The former Wolves star was guilty in the build-up to Manchester United's equaliser.
He gave the ball away and, in his attempt to win it back, fouled Amad, allowing Fernandes to score from the penalty spot.
Nunes seemed to get lost as he spent most of the match on the wrong side of what he had been competing in.
It was a terribly bad decision to play him there in the first place.
4. Rodri puzzle cannot be solved
Rodri's injury has had a more catastrophic effect on Manchester City than anyone could have imagined.
The midfielder won the Ballon d'Or for his brilliant performances from defensive midfield.
Since the Spaniard left the team, his importance has never been clearer.
Rodri is a player who makes everything in the team work, and without him Man City would miss everything.
There is a lack of control, the ability to interrupt the opponent's play, tactical errors and the general question of when to push through and when not to.
The use of Josko Gvardiol moving into midfield or Jeremy Doku drifting inside to add physicality both failed against Man United.
Mateo Kovacic came on and improved control of the ball, but without the ball there was still no control.
The club will have to look to the transfer market in January to find someone to fill that gap.
