How Man United earned a six-figure sum from Burnley’s promotion to PL

Burnley will return to the Premier League next season after Monday's 2-1 victory over Sheffield United, has secured an automatic promotion place for Scott Parker side.

The Clarets are reflected from last season's relegation from the top flight – and the departure from Vincent Kompany to Bayern Munich – with a campaign in which they have only lost twice in the competition. Burnley's victory on the Blades also took care of the return of Leeds United to the Premier League.

But Monday's celebrations were not only limited to Turf Moor and Elland Road as a man United – a large rival of both Burnley and Leeds – also benefited in the midst of the promotion party, according to reports.

The promotion of Burnley has activated a clause in the deal in which Hannibal Mejbri was connected to the Clarets of Man United with Simon Stone of BBC Sport last summer, which reports that a 'six-figure sum' will now be added to the transfer costs.

The 22-year-old was signed for a first transfer costs of £ 5.4 million, possibly rising to £ 9.4 million with add-ons such as the promotional clause. With Burnley always one of the favorites to go up, it was a smart step from Man United who now pays dividends.

This season Hannibal was one of the most important men of Parker and played the entire 90 minutes of Monday's victory, and even made the mistake by Anel Ahmedhodzic with which Josh Brownhill could arrange the game from the penalty spot.

But this season it is not all just sailed for the Burnley star. In February he accused Preston's Milutin Osmajic of making a racist comment during the 0-0-drawing game of the clubs in the championship.

Only two weeks after that incident decided to let Parker Hannibal rest for the FA Cup Fifth-Round-Round-Confirmation against Preston and explained that he did it for his own benefit of the player, but admitted that he has taken the choice back because Hannibal 'is vital' for what Burnley does.

The Tunisian, who scored against Norwich last week to put Burnley about promotion, has 36 performances in all competitions and earned a reunion with the side of Ruben Amorim.

And there is even a chance that he could stand in line next year for the Red Devils, because his transfer to Burnley included a buy-back clause in the deal.

Man United wants to strengthen their ranks after a disappointing Premier League campaign that the club sees in 14th place with only five games to play.

They are planning to complete £ 92.5 million in companies this summer for Matheus Cunha and Liam Delap this summer.

Man United plans to activate the release clauses of £ 62.5 million for Cunha at Wolves and £ 30 million for Delap in Ipswich to sign both players as soon as the transfer window is opened on 1 June.

But Amorim is perhaps also interested in Hannibal for whom the club also has a matching right clause. This means that if a rival is an offer for the midfielder, the Chiefs of Old Trafford would be informed and have the possibility to present an equal offer to Burnley and the player.

Old Trafford Academy's product seems to have retained the support of his former teammates.

When the promotion was secured, Hannibal went to Instagram to celebrate, just placing 'Premier League' next to photos of the parties in Turf Moor.

Man United Defender Harry Maguire responded by saying that 'Well Done Mate' next to two folding emojis.
