How Rashford and Osimhen compare as Man Utd look at stunning swap transfer

MARCUS RASHFORD and Victor Osimhen could be involved in a stunning swap this month.

The 27-year-old Manchester United star recently admitted he is ready for a “new challenge” away from Old Trafford.

Rashford has attracted a lot of interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia, who are said to be willing to pay him as much as £675,000 per week.

But the forward has rejected a move to the Middle East as he is keen to impress new England boss Thomas Tuchel, which could open the door to Napoli.

Their boss Antonio Conte is keen on Rashford and could try to reunite him with his former United teammates Scott McTominay and Romelu Lukaku.

Osimhen, 26, was previously Napoli's star man.

But after moves to Saudi Arabia and Chelsea fell through in the summer, the Nigerian was sidelined by Conte and loaned out to Galatasaray.

However, United could land Osimhen this month, with the striker having a £62m release clause.

Flogging Rashford to Napoli, meanwhile, would give the Red Devils a huge PSR boost, while giving Amorim the opportunity to add extra firepower in Osimhen.

Since joining Napoli from Lille in 2020, Osimhen has scored many more goals than Rashford.

While the United man played mainly from the wing, Osimhen has been the main man up front at Napoli and now Galatasaray.

He scored 76 goals in 133 appearances for Serie A, ending their 33-year title drought in 2023.

Osimhen has also added another twelve goals for Galatasaray, taking his total record to 88 goals in 148 games since 2020.

Rashford has scored 71 times in 214 appearances in the same period, four of which he has scored this season.

Obviously, having played wide, Rashford has many more assists than Osimhen.

Since his move to Napoli, Osimhen has provided a total of 16 assists, compared to Rashford's 31.

The Man Utd man has also created 197 chances, more than Osimhen's total of 136, albeit the Nigerian has played far fewer games.

Rashford surpasses Osimhen in big chances created with 36 compared to 30 – not a huge advantage considering the latter's 66 appearances.

The 60-cap England international made 462 shots, 206 of which were on target, with a conversion rate of 15.37 percent.

Osimhen, meanwhile, had a conversion rate of 17.43 percent at Napoli, with 176 shots on target from 436 attempts.

This season at Galatasaray, his numbers have dipped slightly after hitting the target 33 times from 76 shots, with an overall conversion rate of 15.79 percent.

Both stars have exceeded their xGs – with Rashford's 71 goals coming from an xG of 59.37.

Osimhen's 88 goals have now been achieved from an xG of 81.45.
