Huijsen excited to get to work under Alonso as Mbappe misses training

Dean Huijsen is pleased to work under a coach of the caliber of Xabi Alonso while the defender looks forward to his debut in Real Madrid.

After a hugely successful spell that was in charge of Bayer Leverkusen, Alonso joined Madrid at the end of May, to replace Carlo Ancelotti.

Huijsen became the first signing of the Alonso era, with Madrid paid € 59.5 million (£ 50 million) to bring the Center-Rug from Bournemouth.

Together with fellow new addition, Alexander-Arnold Trent is standing in line to let his Madrid bow in Los Blancos' opening Club World Cup match against Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia on Wednesday.

And Huijsen enjoys the chance to play for Alonso.

“He is a good coach with clear ideas,” said Huijsen.

“Everyone knows what he has been and what he is.

“As a coach he has achieved great things, and as a player the same. We are all enthusiastic.”

However, Kylian Mbappe may not appear in Alonso's first game that was in charge after the France star had missed the training on Tuesday.

According to ESPN, Mbappe suffered from fever.

Mbappe may not be the only player who gets hot under the collar for Madrid, whose match against Al-Hilal will start in the middle of the afternoon local time in Miami, with the conditions that are expected to zinder.

“The truth is that the heat is sometimes counterproductive, but also for our opponents,” said Madrid -Midfender Dani Ceballos.

“We train at these times and we want to be 'comfortable' in that inconvenience.”
