Hulk Hogan makes surprise appearance at UFC Tampa as he teams up with controversial star

Last Saturday at UFC Tampa, Colby Covington took on Joaquin Buckley in the main event and was sent packing by WWE legend Hulk Hogan.

After losing in extremely disappointing fashion to Leon Edwards last December, Colby Covington took a significant amount of time off from action to consider his options.

'Chaos' finally made his return for the main event of UFC Tampa, where he took on the rising Joaquin Buckley who was riding a five-fight win streak and looking to put his name in title contention.

Colby Covington walks out with WWE legend Hulk Hogan

During UFC Tampa fight week, Covington had continually hinted that his stoppage would be historic, leaving fans wondering what it could possibly be.

The 36-year-old has always been a staunch supporter of Donald Trump, who was recently re-elected as President of the United States, and he has a good relationship with the UFC fan base.

That's why fans wondered if Trump would elope with Covington since he consistently attends UFC events and lives near Tampa.

However, fans were shocked when the former interim champion walked out with WWE legend Hulk Hogan, who was carrying an American flag on a pole.

Not only that, but also part of Covington's corner team was UFC legend Chael Sonnen. 'The American Gangster' wasn't just there for moral support, he actually stood as one of Colby's cornermen and shouted advice throughout the fight.

“Colby let Chael Sonnen and Hulk Hogan walk him lol. Man is a showman. I can't deny that,” a fan responded to X.

Covington also switched up his walkout music and walked to Real American, the theme song from 'Hulkster' during his days in the WWE.

Colby Covington suffers a doctor's break after a devastating cut

Unfortunately for Covington, his return to the Octagon was covered in blood, as in round three the doctor deemed him unable to continue after suffering a serious cut to his right eye.

In the first round, 'New Mansa' landed a sharp uppercut as the 36-year-old appeared to attempt a takedown, immediately opening the gash under Covington's eyebrow.

Despite this, Covington continued for two more rounds, with the cut getting deeper and deeper. However, the former interim champion was unable to execute his game plan as he only managed one of his five takedown attempts.

This marks the first time in Covington's 12-year professional career that he has lost consecutive fights, with his next move unclear.
