Manchester United suffered a humiliating caraba -cup output when they were beaten in a marathon penalty shootout by League Two Grimsby in Blundell Park.

Amorim sent skipper Bruno Fernandes, new forward Mbeumo and defensive Kingpin Matthijs de Ligt during the break in an attempt to save the game.
Mbeumo pulled one back with a shot in the corner 15 minutes of time. Following more offensive substitutes who meant that Mason Mount and Mbeumo filled the wing-back roles towards the end, Maguire converted the last-minute equalizer.
While Cunha ran up to take United's fifth penalty, it seemed that they would escape. But Cunha failed – and his team too.
