Brighton -Manager Fabian Hurzeler says that he is “100%” self -assured midfielder Carlos Baleba, will remain in the club this season.
Manchester United inquired about the costs of signing the 21-year-old, but earlier this month brought their pursuit in the midst of the refusal of the Seagulls to sell.
Baleba has started the Premier League matches of Brighton so far and has made 80 performances for the club since he came to Lille in 2023.
When asked whether the Cameroon International will stay in the transfer deadline of Brighton, even if a lucrative bid comes in, Hurzeler replied “yes”.
“If there is a number more than 100 [%]I would say more than 100, so fantastic confident, “said Hurzeler.
Brighton has signed six players this summer, including Defenders Maxim De Cuyper from Club Brugge for £ 17.5 million, Olivier Boscagli from PSV Eindhoven on a free transfer and Diego Coppola from Hellas Verona for an unspoured fee.
Midfielder Tom Watson joined Sunderland for £ 10 million, winger Yoon Dooung was signed from Daejeon Hana Citizen and Forward Charalampos Kostoulas was recruited from Olympiakos for £ 29.8 million.
Hurzeler no longer expects arrivals before the deadline.
“I have a feeling,” he said, when he was asked if Brighton was completed on the market.
“Sometimes it is not so smart to share the feelings you have with the public, but in general I am very happy with the team.”
