No two football players are the same.
And for Jordan Dawson, their boots should not be the same.
The artist has adapted boots for some of the biggest names in the Premier League.
From Marcus Rashford and Declan Rice to Enzo Fernandez and Marc Cucurella – Jordan took care of them all.
And it all starts with just a message.
Sunsport followed Jordan through the process of adjusting a few for Premier League icon Willian after his return to Fulham.
“So how it all works is that I get a message from a football player, of course ask for a modified few boots,” the designer explained.
“Some may have a kind of idea of what they want, some will have no idea.
“Brazilians are known to be there and are competent, have a little flair. So I made this design.
“I wanted to be able to express the skill I have, but it was just a bit too much for him. So here we started and now we have weakened it a bit and now it is now where it is now.”
Jordan started adjusting for the first time when he worked at Nike and got several pairs of shoes.
He then took on him to personalize them from his own house.
After designing his first pair – some normal white Nike Air forces – he started building a portfolio.
Although he was knocked back by a number of different brands, he brought his work back to Nike and the sportswear company offered him a space to design in his flagship Nike Town Store in Central London.
Jordan was then recruited to design boots for Mason Mount and Phil Foden prior to their respective debut in England.
That performance opened a world of the possibility for the entrepreneur, who then received more work from Adidas and FIFA video franchise.
But it was his work for Declan Rice that the business snowball really helped.
For Jordan, the highlight has worked with Brazilian legend Kaka so far during a FIFA event.
He said: “I think there was a pinching moment when I worked with Kaka.
“I remember players in line to meet him and at that moment I thought, ok, these are professional football players who want to meet their idol.
“I also grew up watching Kaka, that Brazilian team with Ronaldinho, Kaka, Rivaldo.
'And I remember that his manager came to me and I hear that you have a few trainers for Kaka.
“So then it was also to present that personally to him, yes, that was a squeezer moment.”
Jordan, a lifelong Chelsea fan, hopes to work with Cole Palmer one day.
Manchester City Striker Erling Haaland is also a dream client: “Guaranteed photos of him scored goals!”
There has even been a suggestion that his boots have helped players to find their goal form.
Jordan continued: “I gave a pair of boots to Darwin Nunez and Marcus Rashford at a very similar time.
“Darwin Nunez just didn't score, he hit this really bad patch and suddenly he puts these boots up and scores backheel goals against Real Madrid, he scores Thunderbolts against Newcastle.
“Marcus Rashford could not stop scoring when he was wearing them.
“So I had many direct reports that say:” Maybe your boots give them super powers, “which I laughed at, but I also went a bit with it.”
However, the best part of the process is to vomit the boots to the Premier League star.
“I love to meet the players personally. I sit down with them and have a normal conversation, learn to know who they are on a personal level and then see their natural response to seeing the boots for the first time.
“You get that goosebumps because you see their faces light up. I delivered boots to Darwin Nunez at his home and he kissed the boot and you knew it meant something for him. So that was a great feeling.”
In Willian's reaction to his customized boots, Jordan said: “His reaction was great. He played for Chelsea Football Club, my youth club.
“So meet him, seeing his reaction, he opens the box and you see his whole face light up. That is the best response I can ask.
“A beautifully signed shirt for the collection. So that will go on the wall in my new flat.”
And the ultimate goal for the businessman?
“To make my own shoe. I would like to walk that feeling off the street and someone who points to my shoe and says,” What are you wearing? “
“And I would say,” It's my shoe, “I think that would be the ultimate flex for me.”
