‘I didn’t say no’… Arman Tsarukyan explains why he’s not fighting Justin Gaethje at UFC 313

Arman Tsarukyan defended himself after Justin Gaethje claimed that he said no to fight him in the short term on UFC 313.

Earlier this week, fans were crushed by the news that Hooker had withdrawn from his UFC 313 fight against Justin Gaethje, leaving 'the highlight' without an opponent.

Despite the last-minute withdrawal, various light weights offered to combat Gaethje on just over a week, so that fans hope that the former interim champion would remain on the map.

Last Wednesday, UFC Boss, Dana White announced that Rafael Fiziev Hooker will replace and Gaethje will rematch on UFC 313.

Although different light weights had claimed that they would fight in the short term, Gaethje shot five out and claimed that they rejected the chance, although they published their interest.

One of those who apparently turned off the fight was Arman Tsarukyan. 'Ahalkalakets' was of course planned to fight for the title of 155 pounds last January, but a back injury excluded it only one day before the fight.

Then Dana White revealed that Tsarukyan will not get another title shot and have to make his way back to a title shot.

A victory over Korte Notice on Gaethje will probably have been enough for him to secure a title shot and he has been brought to social media to defend himself why he will not fight at UFC 313.

“I didn't say no, I immediately accepted it and asked for a 160 pound of catching weight 11 days from the weighting, UFC said that was not an option,” Tsarukyan revealed.

Who will then fight Arman Tsarukyan?

The lightweight title photo is apparently warm and there is no clear candidate to fight against Islam Makhachev for the belt.

The most likely to fight against the Russian next is Ilia Topuria after the Spaniard had left its featherweight title to permanently move to 155 pounds.

Because that is the most likely possibility, that leaves Tsarukyan with one clear option and that is a rematch against Charles Oliveira.

'Do Bronx' was hopeful on a rematch against Makhachev, but he has been 2-1 since their first meeting with his loss to the Armenian.

Because their first fight is so closely disputed, a rematch of five laps seems to determine who the number one competition is the most sensible option for both challengers.
