‘I don’t want nothing more’ … Brandon Moreno almost retired at last UFC Mexico City

Brandon Moreno was ready to name it the last time he was in Mexico City.

Unfortunately, the dual UFC flying weight champion is in a much better place than he was more than a year ago when he fought against the current #1 flight weight candidate Brandon Royval.

It was someone who had Brandon Moreno an earlier victory and won their first fight through the first round of TKO after a shoulder injury for Royval. Years later, Royval would take revenge in the Rematch in Mexico City and Moreno defeated in a split decision of the razor-close.

Brandon Moreno almost talks to UFC Mexico City

Moreno took an extensive break to 'cure his soul' after the loss for Royval and admitted in an interview with Daniel Cormier that he was ready to walk away from MMA.

“I was very sad, I was very disappointed about myself,” said Moreno about how he felt at home again.

“At the moment I was so angry with myself, I don't want anything anymore. That's it. That's for me …” Moreno brought in again.

The heat of the moment would eventually disappear for Moreno.

“My team and my family say,” Hey man, just chill … Take some time, spend time with your family. Go out of the gym. “

Brandon Moreno says that he has 'so many years' to give MMA

And that, he did that. Moreno said he went for two months without getting a foot in the gym: “With the pass of that time I felt, okay, you are starting to get excited again to fight …”

Moreno certainly helped the resignation. After spending more time with his family, the Mexican returned to form or perhaps a better version of 'The Assassin Baby' in UFC Edmonton in November, making a dominant striking clinic against Amir Albazi in five laps.

Brandon Moreno is looking for his first victory in UFC Mexico City when he takes on Steve Erceg this Saturday.

A new life -blown competition at the age of 31, Moreno's thoughts about retirement have long since disappeared.

“I have so much to do,” said Moreno about retirement.

“I have so many years to give to this sport. I am so young. I'm not sure.

“The only thing that I am starting to feel more busy is with the diet. Man, I hate the f ****** diet …” admitted Moreno.
