‘I feel so humiliated’… Joaquin Buckley gets real about his decision defeat to Kamaru Usman

Joaquin Buckley has given a refreshing fair assessment of his performance at UFC Atlanta.

'New Mansa' was the square against former Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman in the toughest test of his career last weekend.

Joaquin Buckley continued to hunt the knockout to the last bell, but when it went, it was clear that he had suffered a decision, defeat against Usman, who could take him down and keep him on the ground almost every round.

The loser of the UFC Atlanta claimed that he would only share the Octagon with such a legend, made him 'victoriously' when he broke his silence after his six-fighter winning streak ended by usman but he changed his tune after he had taken some time to think.

Joaquin Buckley's 'Fair' Response to Kamaru Usman -Loss

On Thursday, Buckley shared a video entitled 'My Honest Reaction of UFC Atlanta' on YouTube.

During the 20-minute debrief, the 31-year-old destroyed his inability to tackle the wrestling of Usman.

“Every round he took me down, kept me there,” Buckley said.

“I couldn't get back on my feet. I look at [referee] Mike Beltran, such as: “Bro, get us up at least once, let me get back to my feet.”

'I'm not going to lie to you, I feel so embarrassed because of that loss. I feel so humiliated because of that loss.

“At the same time I have to bend my head. Usman showed me who he was.

“That night it really showed its levels for this game.”

Joaquin Buckley remains a player on 170 pounds

Buckley feels it now, but a loss for one of the best good weights ever is not the end of the world.

The 21-7 hunter is still ranked in the top 10 of 170 pounds, so there are many large fights available for him.

Leon Edwards, Ian Machado Garry, Michael Morales and Colby Covington are currently all without an opponent.

A victory over one of them would put Buckley on the CUSP of another welterweight title -eliminator.

He will decompcriminate before he starts working on his wrestling and booking a comeback fight.

It is safe to say that Buckley will be back with a bang before 2025 is over.
