It was a frustrating Saturday afternoon for Barcelona as they were denied a second successive win by Real Betis' 94th-minute equalizer at the Benito Villamarin. It is a result that means Real Madrid can close the gap at the top of La Liga to two points should they beat Girona in the evening match.
Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick cut an irritated figure after the match and according to Marca, he attributed the result to a lack of experience.
“I am very disappointed with what happened on the pitch. This was a game we had to win. We have a very young team and we still have a lot to improve. We have to be stronger for away games.”
Flick was sent off just before Betis scored the first equalizer, which came from the penalty. He couldn't believe he had been sacked from the Barcelona dugout over the incident.
“I don't understand my red card. I didn't say anything to anyone. I got a response, something I said to myself. This has never happened to me before.”
