Real Madrid icon Ronaldo has lifted the lid at his wild house parties during the Galacticos era, with people like David Beckham and Zinedine Zidane present
David Beckham was one of the football elite who witnessed a player who waved € 500 notes at one of the legendary house parties of Ronaldo Nazario.
The Brazilian legend has lifted the lid on his life, away from the field during the Galacticos era of Real Madrid in the 2000s. During this period the club brought together an incredible line -up of global superstars, including Beckham, next to other greats such as Luis Figo, Roberto Carlos and Zidane.
Ronaldo's legendary bashes were not exclusively for stars in Madrid. They also welcomed Brazilian stars of arch rivals Barcelona, such as Rivaldo. A game in particular is etched in the memory of R9 as Djalminha, a less announced Brazilian who played for Deportivo La Coruna, made the entrance with a good sum of money.
“I arrived at the party and there was Figo, Zidane, Beckham, Guti, Raul, Roberto Carlos, Denilson, Rivaldo,” he remembered on the Charla Podcast. “Everyone was there. All my friends came too.
“Djalminha showed up with a plug of € 500 nuts and kept pulling them out of his pocket, showing. Everyone went crazy. Imagine!
“Then we started talking about who played better.” Oh, it's you, “said someone.” Really not, Zidane is great. “And Beckham?” There is no comparison. “And then he says:” Ronaldo only scores goals. “
Ronaldo was the ultimate party planner during his real days. When he did not throw partying at home, he would leave to enjoy the nightlife of another European city.
He said: “I have always been a good manager. I have always wanted to organize good and high level events. I have always made sure to make everyone happy and offer quality service.
“Man, I had so many parties! I was in all parties. I was the Chico -Ruarque [Brazilian singer] From the party scene. I would train at 10 am in the morning and play on Saturday. “
Painting a lively photo of his glamorous life, he added: “Saturday night I would go to Paris and spend Sunday in Paris. At night there would be a party in Paris. At 7 o'clock in the morning I would catch a jet to Madrid. I would arrive at 9 o'clock in the morning and training at 10.”
But when it came to parties in Madrid, Ronaldo was more careful. He explained: “I did that a lot, because in the city where you play, you have the party at home, or you risk being seen when you go to a nightclub in your play city. You go there to play.
“If you are parties in the city where you play, you sign your own death order. So I have diversified. I have traveled a lot.”
After leaving Manchester United in 2003 after the breakdown of his relationship with Sir Alex Ferguson, Beckham – who turns 50 on Friday 2 May – spent four years in Madrid and won the La Liga title in 2007.
In the meantime, Ronaldo really played between 2002 and 2007. Neither of them won the Champions League in their time at the club.
