Rashford, 27, has not played football for a minute since he was immersed against Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League.
Red Devil's boss Ruben Amorim had been critical of Rashford, which led to his exit.
Villa pays 75 percent of its wages and will have the option to make its loan permanent in the summer for £ 40 million.
Rashford published a statement on social media after being announced as a villa player.
He only posted 78 words, but insisted that he was the “easy decision” West Midlands Club and that he just wants to “play”.
He wrote: “I want to thank Manchester United and Aston Villa for the fact that this loan has made a deal happened.
“I was lucky that a few clubs approached me, but Aston Villa was an easy decision.
“I really admire the way Aston Villa played this season, and the ambitions of the managers.

“I just want to play football and I am excited to start.
“I wish everyone at Manchester United the very best for the rest of the season.”
Manchester United needs Rashford's and all the other happiness they can get after a new defeat at the weekend.
The club suffered from their seventh Home League loss of the season by Crystal Palace.
However, Rashford hopes to break into the Unai Emery team as soon as possible and to get himself back on the field.
He will be happy to help the Villans to return to the top six and get ahead in the Champions League.
