‘I made a mistake’ – Inzaghi apologies for red card in Udinese victory

Simone Inzaghi admitted that his nerves control over his emotions names during the scary victory of Inter against Udinese in Serie A on Sunday.

Marko Arnautovic and Davide Frattesi had set the competition leaders two goals before the break, but the fine effort of Oumar Solet in the 71st minute made it interesting.

Inter had to trust Yann Sommer to ensure that they appeared with all three points, where the Swiss keeper let the Solet and Lorenzo Lucca deny while they held up for a 2-1 triumph.

But when the game tapped in the stopping time, Inzaghi was shown his second yellow card after entering the game field after a decision that went to Udinese benefit.

Although the 48-year-old had to watch the last few moments away from the touchline, Inter was able to retain their 20th Serie A victory of the campaign.

“A wonderful first half by the boys, where we earned more than the lead of two goals,” Inzaghi told Dazn.

“In the second half, for the purpose of the Udinese defender Oumar), we had not admitted too much. Then we lost our brightness, against a team like Udinese that has always shown interesting things.

“I made a mistake at the end. I apologized to the referee,” Intaghi added when he was asked about his shipping.

“Foul On (Joaquin) Correa seemed clear to me and then came the corner kick in which Solet almost scored.

“Sometimes adrenaline plays bad tricks. Unfortunately I am not on the couch next time.”

Inzaghi received his first caution just after the restart for his complaints when Marcus Thuram was brought to the edge of the box, but no free kick was given.

He will follow the journey of Inter to tackle Parma next weekend, while he also explains that the team will be without important players for their Coppa Italia semi-final against AC Milan in midweek.

“We are currently in trouble. Of our five substitutions, four were forced,” said Inzaghi.

“Arnautovic and Fratteni took two beats and had to be changed, (Federico) Dimarco and (Matteo) intestinal (only returned after injuries).

“On Wednesday we will also have suspended (Kristjan) Asllani. It would have been the fourth full match for (Hakan) Calhanoglu and I preferred to take him out.”

Inzaghi added that Mehdi Taremi and Lautaro Martinez and Denzel Dumfries would not be available for Milan, who was beaten 2-1 on Sunday by Napoli.

“We will move forward in the hope that they can shake hands with us in the future, because we need them as we claim in the competitions,” Inzaghi added. “Then the Club World Cup will be important to us.”
