IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois did not want to leave his former rival untouched after Oleksandr Usyk vs. Tyson Fury 2.
Daniel Dubois was ringside as Oleksandr Usyk defeated Tyson Fury for the second time in less than a year in Riyadh on Saturday. In a highly entertaining 12 round affair, Usyk earned a unanimous decision to move to 2-0 against the all-time great Fury.
Usyk remains defeated by the win over Fury and has his eyes on other potential heavyweight title challengers. One of them is Dubois, who fell short against Usyk in their first match last year.
After the first Usyk-Dubois match ended controversially, boxing fans could be about to see the two behemoths face off again. The former is the former for Dubois, who will face Joseph Parker in his upcoming title defense in February.
But Dubois' upcoming obstacle didn't stop him from trying to set up a potential rematch with his former rival.

Daniel Dubois vs. Oleksandr Usyk 2?
In the middle of Usyk's post-fight interview with Ade Oladipo, Dubois barged in to promote a possible rematch.
“Usyk! I want my revenge!” Dubois stated: “Good job tonight, well played. But I want revenge for last time's robbery! Let's get it. Let's go! Where's Frank? [Warren]? Let it happen!”
Dubois and Parker will clash on a stacked card in Riyadh on February 22. The card is headlined by the highly anticipated light heavyweight title rematch between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol.
Usyk seemed amenable to turning it back on Dubois after his former foe interrupted his post-fight celebration. Their first matchup ended with a ninth-round TKO by Usyk, despite some controversy midway through the fight.
Daniel Dubois faces a big task before negotiating Oleksandr Usyk's rematch
In the fifth round between Usyk and Dubois, Dubois dropped Usyk with a powerful body shot, but the presiding referee ruled it a low blow and gave Usyk a maximum of five minutes to recover. The sequence could have resulted in a Dubois TKO victory had the referee not ruled it an illegal shot.
After defeating Dubois, Usyk defeated Fury via split decision in May. The undefeated Ukrainian powerhouse has defeated the likes of Anthony Joshua, Derek Chisora and Tony Bellew during his career in the ring.
Dubois will face a new, fresh challenge in Parker, who many believe could cause many headaches for Dubois in their fight. Parker earned the WBO interim heavyweight championship with a majority decision victory over Zhilei Zhang in March.
On paper, 2025 should be another high-octane year for boxing, especially for the heavyweights. Usyk vs. Dubois 2 could be in the offing if Dubois can get past his upcoming opponent.
