
The featherweight division of the UFC is completely shaken after a few major announcements.
Diego Lopes was previously in a bit of a difficult position at the top of the 145-pound weight class.
The 30-year-old rising star has won five fights in a row with victories over people like Den Ige and Brian Ortega who earned him the #3 ranking, but Lopes was just outside the title photo.
With a rematch between Ilia Topuria and Alexander Volkanovski who apparently were on the maps, the Brazilian fan favorite had waited for the side lines.
That was until the most important news came that Topuria had left the title to go to lightweight he has spoken extensively since he defeated Max Holloway on UFC 308.

Diego Lopes responds to UFC 314 empty title fight with Alexander Volkanovski that is officially made
Via an Instagram Live, Dana White announced that Headlining UFC 314 in Miami will be a vacant featherweight title fight between Diego Lopes and Alexander Volkanovski.
Given the title government he produced before he lost the belt to Ilia Topuria on UFC 298 last year, it was only logical that Volkanovski would get a rematch.
With 'El Matador' further from 145 pounds, the former champion will now assume the most in-shape participant in the division.
Lopes gave his response to the fight that was officially made through various messages on social media, while thinking about a whirlwind UFC career since he signed the promotion only two years ago to make a debut in the late notification.
After placing the official image for the headliner of 12 April next to the caption, “dream, faith and let it happen”, Lopes repeated the same sentence in a follow -up statement.
“In recent years I have worked if no one else has worked, I have accepted challenges and dares to have the UFC laid for me, I said yes in every situation, even if it was not favorable for me. In less than 2 years within the UFC I get my chance to get the title. I will not fail. Dream, faith and let it happen. #Andnew “

Diego Lopes and Alexander Volkanovski is a homerun -matchup
Make no mistake, just because this fight is for an empty title does not mean that it is less desirable now that Ilia Topuria has left the division.
Diego Lopes has won so many fans with his exciting style that constantly sees him pursue with his heavy hands and excellent submission skills.
On the other hand, Alexander Volkanovski has a real claim to be the greatest of all time of all time alongside former opponents of his Like Jose Aldo and Max Holloway.
'The Great' now has the chance to return the clock at the age of 36, but to do this, he will have to stop the barreling momentum of one of the most exciting additions to the UFC in recent years.
