‘I won Champions League and Premier League – I know who the greatest player ever is’

Former striker of Manchester United Louis Saha has mentioned Portugal icon Cristiano Ronaldo as the biggest ever to describe football and his former teammate as a “robot”

Louis Saha claims that “robot” Cristiano Ronaldo is the biggest football player ever. Former striker Saha won two Premier League titles, a Champions League trophy and various other awards with the Red Devils, scored 28 goals about his 86 performances.

The French attacker also appeared for other Premier League clubs, including Newcastle United, Fulham, Everton and Tottenham Hotspur. Saha spent four seasons playing a young Ronaldo, who had signed for United after he had an impression on the then manager Sir Alex Ferguson while playing for Sporting CP.

The Portuguese icon was very successful in its first Stint and won three Premier League titles and a Champions League – but his most of his silverware loaded with Real Madrid were spent with silverware.

With a constant career of more than two decades, Ronaldo has won four champions competitions, two Series A titles, two La Ligas, many domestic cups and even a European championship on the international stage.

The debate continues to rage about whether Ronaldo Lionel Messi has wrapped as the biggest player of the modern game, with many who claim that Messi's World Cup 2022 jumped over the Al-Nassr star.

However, Saha is full of conviction that his 40-year-old former teammate is the best ever on the field, as he told Genting Casino that Ronaldo is the “best version” of a player you could find.

He said: “I think, yes, it is the one I have always said that he is the most complete player. In that respect it is someone who can do everything on the field.

“Physical and football, IQ combined and all this, yes, as a player. As a player, he is the best version of a football player if you want to start a game at every level.

“But if you want a little different style because you have a team of other, talented players, you might be able to watch others. But if a machine, like a robot, it is the nearest version.”

Ronaldo is currently processing his trade in the Saudi Pro League, and he is only 67 goals away from completing 1,000 strikes throughout his career. He has won the Arab Club Champions Cup with the side that is most recently in 2023, but has to lift a trophy this season.

Messi, on the other hand, lives in Florida and plays for David Beckham's MLS Club Inter Miami – where he won the Leagues Cup in 2023 and the supporters' Shield in 2024.
