Tottenham Hotspur striker Alejo Veliz has spent almost all of 2024 in Spain. He was loaned to Sevilla in the second half of last season and joined Espanyol on another temporary deal in the summer. However, neither spell has been particularly successful.
In recent weeks, Veliz has been left out of Espanyol's starting line-up, having scored just once in La Liga (four in all competitions). Spurs could keep an eye on him for a possible recall, and if that happens, a move could happen closer to home.
According to Ole (via CaughtOffside), Leicester City playmaker Facundo Buonanotte has called on Veliz to end his stay at Espanyol and join him at the Premier League strugglers.
“I would tell Tanque Veliz to come here and learn from Jamie Vardy. He's on loan, but now he's at Tottenham, so I think he's aware of this. When we were at Central, we made a nice duo.”
It remains to be seen whether Espanyol will lose Veliz in January. While he wouldn't be a major loss, his departure would need to be filled by a replacement.
