Prior to their record-setting fight last Saturday at UFC 310, Ian Machado Garry and Shavkat Rakhmonov got into an altercation during the ceremonial weigh-in.
After Belal Muhammad pulled out of his scheduled UFC 310 title defense against Shavkat Rakhmonov, a fellow undefeated welterweight contender, Ian Machado Garry threw his name in the hat to step in on short notice.
With that, UFC CEO Dana White announced that the fight would serve as the co-main event, and determine who will next fight 'Remember The Name' for the title.
This fight will break the record for the largest combined undefeated record in the UFC, with Israel Adesanya and Paulo Costa previously holding the record from their 2020 fight.

Ian Machado Garry and Shavkat Rakhmonov feud in final UFC 310 fight
Since the Irishman and 'The Nomad' had previously trained together, things remained relatively respectful during the start of their fight camps, but things seemingly became more heated as the fight drew closer.
Just a few hours after they both weighed in for their 170-pound bout, the two took part in the ceremonial weigh-in, where they had their final showdown.
After an intense week of fighting in which it was revealed that Rakhmonov had sent Machado Garry into training, the two nearly came to blows in their final confrontation before the fight.
Earlier this week, the undefeated Kazakh claimed he had brought the Irishman into training several times and that Garry knows what happened. Rather than deny Rakhmonov's claims, Garry admitted he had, but vowed to “punch a hole through his head” on Saturday evening.
“We're not going to hit each other, we're good, we're good,” Garry told Dana White as the two started going head-to-head.
Shortly afterwards, the Kazakh began pushing his head against Garry's, while the Irishman tried to push back before 'The Nomad' pushed him away.
They were quickly separated before things got out of hand and White sent them off stage.

Machado Garry resembles his idol Conor McGregor and is known as one of the most confident fighters on the microphone. He usually tries to get into his opponent's head before his fights.
This time, however, he remained respectful due to his history with Rakhmonov, but after the latest confrontation, the 27-year-old believes he is now in Rakhmonov's head.
“So I'm going to rattle his brain: Shavkat doesn't normally get this emotional, he doesn't get like this. There is an energy. He brought that good, strong energy in the beginning,” Garry began to explain in a video on his social media.
“But then I sat there and said to everyone, this is what I believe I said on stage, sometimes adrenaline might say something different so I have to listen back and find out, but I said no, I'm fine, let's come closer, we have respect.
“And then he started pushing his head against mine and I was like, okay, I'm not here to beat you or fight right now… Then he started pushing again, so I said, 'Get the fuck out of my head. space, you want to go now, let's go', I fear no man on this planet.
“I'm telling you, I'm in his fucking braincase… Let's go baby… Your 0 goes tomorrow, I'm going to stay undefeated… I'm going to finish you tomorrow,” Garry finished.
