Ian Machado Garry claims resurfaced footage proves Carlos Prates is ‘not a fighter’ ahead of UFC Kansas City showdown

The pronounced Irishman has made his next opponent with a daring claim for their long -awaited welterweight confrontation.

Ian Machado Garry was not happy after missing the next welterweight title fight that will take place next month on UFC 315.

However, this did not prevent the controversial star from its place in the ranking on the line against one of the most dangerous rising contenders in the division.

Machado Garry is confronted with Carlos Prates in the main event of the return of the Octagon to Kansas City on 26 April in a great matchup between two deadly strikers.

Prates was originally set to Geoff Neal on UFC 314, but after that fight fell on, he had an even greater chance of accepting the #7-ranked competition.

Ian Machado Garry Labels Carlos Prates A 'Quitter' After viewing images of an earlier stop loss

Ian Machado Garry has received some criticism in the past for the way he spoke about his opponents before sharing the Octagon with them.

His earlier comments positioned him as the heel for his attacks with both Geoff Neal and Neil Magny, although he has been able to swing public opinion lately.

In a recent video that the 27-year-old released, he commented on images of Carlos Prates from earlier in his career.

'The Nightmare' is currently running on a 11-Fight win-streak with 10 consecutive knockouts, four of which came to the Octagon last year after he debuted in February.

Prates has some losses on his file, although he has clearly made significant improvements in recent years after he has not lost since 2019.

The Brazilian has been stopped twice by strikes in his career and Machado Garry is convinced that he can take this count to three by derailing the Hype train.

In the video, the Irishman looks back one of the knockout losses of Prates where after resisting a punishment he apparently calls himself by making it clear that he cannot continue.

Machado Garry was extremely critical of the actions of his next opponent, regardless of how far he has come since that phase of his career.

“Here look at this, this is a video of Carlos Prates and his true Vechtgeest, it is called a lecturer. He was just put together all the rounds earlier. Put his hand up, shakes his head,” I am ready, “and then just falls into absolute despair in absolute despair.”

In the past, Charles Oliveira also criticized the same thing for the same

Although these images of Carlos Prates do not paint him in the best light, a lot has changed since then and in recent years he has been clear as a hunter as a hunter.

A man who knows Ian Machado Garry very well, Charles Oliveira, was often criticized for similar things with his opponents who wondered if he had the necessary heart to compete at the highest level.

'Do Bronx' later silenced these accusations in his career by coming into different firefights during his incredible lightweight title run.

Machado Garry who says destructive things about his opponents is not something new, but he might be a shock if he believes that prates will be easy to discourage in view of his current winning series and momentum.
