During his time in the UFC, Ian Machado Garry is known to say something controversial things about his opponents before they meet in the Octagon.

This was no different before April 26, where Machado Garry made a number of large claims about Carlos Prates as an enlargement because of a video of one of his career losses.

Nevertheless, there was nothing but respect between the two men when the last bell sounded and this extended to the backstage area after the fight.

Prates may not have raised his hand, but he came close to turning the fight after losing the first three rounds on all three score cards, which shows that he has enough heart to compete at the highest level.

'The Future' posted a video on social media that showed the exchange between him and Prates that took place behind the scenes.

The Brazilian was recovering before Machado Garry approached him and taken back the comments he made in the structure of the fight.

“You are sinister. You have a very strong heart.”

Prates reacted by thanking his opponent before he stated that he believes that this will not be the first time that they are opposed to each other in the Octagon.

“Thank you for accepting the fight. I have the feeling that we will see each other again, you know, perhaps for the title.”

Machado Garry, who mainly spoke in Portuguese, expanded an olive branch by saying that if Prates ever needs him, he will come and train with 'the nightmare' because he wants him to succeed.

“100%. Didy, this hand has strength. I want to tell you, if you want help to go to the top, I will come to Brazil (if) you need my help. Let's go. You are Brazilian and I want all Brazilians to go to the top.”

Ian Machado Garry quickly focuses his attention on his next goal

In anticipation of Fight Night in Kansas City, Ian Machado Garry stated that he was planning to book a flight to Montreal to be present for UFC 315.

After he had defeated Carlos Prates, he claimed that he will be there as the back -up hunter in case something happens to the Champion Belal Muhammad or his challenger, Jack della Maddalena.

Dana White further confirmed that the Irishman will in fact be on May 10 if the promotion needs him, despite the damage he has performed on Saturday evening.

After ending the year with a loss that many believed they raised his stock instead of taking it, Machado Garry is back in the title photo.
