Ian Machado Garry was somewhat hopeful that Belal Muhammad would successfully defend his welterweight title against Jack della Maddalena on UFC 315.
On Saturday at the UFC 315 Main Event in Montreal, the short reign of Belal Muhammad came when the UFC Welterweight champion ended by Jack della Maddalena.
The Australian then took the unanimous decision victory after a war in five round in which blood was shed and the lip of Muhammad was distributed from top to bottom.
Immediately after the fight, Della Maddalena received a challenging message sent by Islam Makhakev, who will now benefit from his teammate, Muhammad, who lost the title.

Ian Machado Garry responds to the title profit of Della Maddalena
Now that Makhachev is finally going to Welterweight, he will probably be the first challenger of Della Maddalena, after the Australian had asked Dana White after the fight.
The movement of the Russian move comes at the best possible time, because the 170 pound division has no other striking competition than Shavkat Rakhmonov, currently recovering from hand surgery.
However, Ian Machado Garry recently achieved an impressive victory over Carlos Prates and weighed the Backup for the UFC 315 Main Event.
And now only a few hours away from the victory of Della Maddalena over Muhammad, the Irishman has shared his reaction.
“I was wrong, Jack della Maddalena is the new champion of the division, because Belal Muhammad did not take a branchedowns, mentally, I know,” Machado Garry started to explain in a video.
“So here are the matchups that I think we should see in the welterweight division. I want to see Carlos Prates take on on Geoff Neal … Leon Edwards is always moan and f— Let, let's give him the most awkward striker throughout the UFC on Michael 'Venom' page.
“Now, you have the new champion, Jack della Maddalena, great performance but sloppy. Rumor is that Islam Makhachev is moving to 170 pounds and if he does, we all have to take good weights back and give the man the respect he deserves.
“But if the negotiations are not going so well, then you have a long blonde Irishman who is ready to take over the UFC and get that belt, and I will smoke Jack della Maddalena, I will pack the ears of him,” the Irish went on.
Della Maddalena sent Ian Machado Garry a shot during the press conference after the fight
Prior to his main event on Saturday, Della Maddalena participated in the press conference before the fight, in which he sent a shot to Machado Garry and claimed that his son is not really his.
The Australian then doubled his remark at the press conference after the fight and said, “I said what I said and that's what I think.”
Although he ways like the backup, Machado Garry will now probably have to wait at the peak of Della Maddalena vs Makhachev, where Dana White reveals that they are already working on that fight.
