Ibrahima Konaté suffers potential injury as France lose to Croatia

France confirmed on their official social media channels that Ibrahima Konaté (25) was replaced during the break and replaced by Dayot Upamecano, because the Liverpool Center-back had sustained a potential injury during the first half in Les Bleus Nations League match against Croatia.

In addition to the potential injury, the former RB Leipzig defender had a first half to forget while he had trouble destroying the threat of Croatia. Konaté was the fault for a handball because a fine was awarded against France. Mike Maignan saved his blushes when he was able to stop the penalty, but the night got worse for the middle behind when he was replaced during the break.

The extent of any potential injury that is sustained by the Liverpool defender is unknown. The reason to replace Konaté by his former teammate at RB Leipzig was described as a “knock”. Such formulation can suggest that the 25-year-old has not been seriously injured at all.
