Champions League icon Marek Hamsik now has a chicken farm and a zoo.
The Napoli legend made 520 performances for the club with his distinctive Mohawk hairstyle.
But since he hunged his boots a year and a half ago after an enchantment on Turkish side Trabzonspor, Balances are Slovakia's assistant manager and his love for agriculture.
In addition to his wife Martina and their three children, the 37-year-old takes care of chickens and has a small zoo with ferrets and turtles in his home country.
Hamsik said Sport24: “It is a relatively new hobby of ours. It all started in April last year during Easter, when we ordered Broeders, from which we later hatched small chicks.
“During that time we managed to set up and rest the chicken coop.
“The chicken run is tailor -made. It looks more like a hotel for chickens with built -in heating and ventilation, but also automatic doors that open in the morning, so that we don't have to get up and check them.
“It is really luxurious and the chickens may be better cared for than we do.
“To date we have 29 and they lay about two dozen eggs a day.
“We have a lot and I am already thinking about opening a store while I enjoy taking care of the chicken coop.”
Hamsik admitted that it was his wife's idea to start the farm and they now have eggs for breakfast every day.
In their animal kingdom, the former midfielder revealed: “Yes, it was her idea. She is a great animal lover in general, who she passed to the whole family.
“If we could, we would have an animal shelter or a small zoo at home.
“Although we actually already have one, because we keep three dogs, a cat, the chickens, two turtles, six guinea pigs and two ferrets.
“We also had two roosters that came to us and we raised them ourselves, but because they are the same blood as the chickens, they could not stay with us.”
Away from the animals Hamsik opened a winery with his father Richard and he has an impressive car collection with a Mustang and a Ferrari.
