Ilia Topuria keeps waiting and wonders who will be his next opponent after he has moved to lightweight.
After he had eliminated Alexander Volkanovski and Max Holloway in back-to-back fights and picked up the two biggest scalp in his division, Ilia Topuria announced that he had been leaving the title of the federal weight.
Since then, Topuria has continued to take a potential fight against the current lightweight champion, the Islam Makhachev, despite the fact that Makhachever is more interested in a fight against Justin Gaethje.
Despite the expectation around the first fight by Ilia Topuria on 155 pounds, he is accused of lying about his weight by lightweight competition Michael Chandler.

Topuria accuses Oliveira and Makhachev of diving
However, Chandler is not the only one who throws away accusations, because while he is on the sidelines, the Spaniard has accused both Makhachev and former champion Charles Oliveira of diving.
With the Russian champion who was not yet interested in fighting Topuria, the 28-year-old briefly focused his sentences on 'Do Bronx', and the two started to trade online hooks.
Despite their short encounters, Oliveira made it clear that he is not interested in fighting Topuria and, instead, begged the UFC to make the rematch between him and Makhachev.
“All my training is aimed at Islam or Charles because I see no other opponents,” Topuria told the media during a press conference in Spain this Thursday.
“Neither does it seem to dare (to fight against me). These are the symptoms of fear, we all know that, but it is normal, I would also be afraid,” the former Featherweight Champion continued.
Ilia Topuria reveals a new nickname prior to the next phase in its UFC career
In anticipation of his permanent step to lightweight, Topuria revealed that he would change with 'a new identity' and his nickname 'El Matador' would change.
During an event earlier this week, in which a street name saw in Toledo, Spain revealed 'Paseo Ilia Topuria' called the 28-year-old nickname.
Topuria will now go through 'La Leyenda', which translates into 'The Legend', while looking forward to continuing his rise in the sport in which he has already become such a huge star.
'La Leyenda' is hopeful that his next fight and opponent will soon be announced; Despite years of calls for the promotion to keep an event in Spain, that will certainly not happen, with Topuria apparently finished the pursuit of that.
