‘If I couldn’t have gone to Real Madrid…’ Mbappé reveals alternative to RMD move

Kylian Mbappé's seven-year spell at Paris Saint-Germain came to an end in the summer. However, if Real Madrid had not been interested, he might have spent his entire career there, he told beIN Sports.

His divorce with the French club was acrimonious. After announcing his departure on a free transfer in February, Mbappe saw his playing time diminish towards the end of last season as Les Parisiens prepared for life without him. Before that, in the summer of 2023, he was even excluded from the squad and left out of the pre-season tour of Japan and South Korea, as PSG desperately tried to sell the pre-war to secure a fee.

Since leaving PSG, he has been embroiled in a pay dispute with his former club. Mbappe is claiming three months of unpaid wages and bonuses. But as he revealed, he could have spent his entire career at PSG if Real Madrid were not interested.

“I've always said that [PSG] was the biggest club in France and one of the best in the world. I only left to go to the biggest club in the world,” he began in an interview with beIN Sports.

“I always said that this was the only club I would have left PSG for. If I couldn't have gone to Real Madrid, I would have stayed at PSG all my life. I spent seven years at PSG. It was an honor. I was always aware of where I was and how big the club PSG was,” Mbappé added.
