‘If you don’t aim to win it, you’re never going to win it’ – Rashford eyes Champions League glory with Villa

Marcus Rashford says he wants to win the Champions League with Aston Villa after he has accompanied them on loan from Manchester United.

Villa signed the 27-year-old on loan until the end of the 2024-25 season, with the option to buy it for £ 40 million when the deal ends.

Rashford made 15 Premier League performances for United this season and has set four times, but has not been seen in front of them since he was dropped out of the team for the Manchester Derby on December 15.

Last season, Rashford scored eight times in all competitions and struggled to reach the heights of the 2022-23 campaign when he yielded 30 goals in 56 performances, with 17 of those who came to the Premier League.

The Internationale Van England believes that he fits well with the establishment of Unai Emery and emphasized his elevated ambitions for his loan saying.

“It is an ambitious time for this club and a great opportunity for me to become a member of the team and to help them keep moving ahead. I am excited, can't wait for the first training session and clearly the first game,” said He Villatv.

“[Unai Emery is] A top manager and what he did in the club because he came to Villa is incredible.

“It is the constant ambition that is attractive, and that is why you want to become a member of such a club.

“I had to choose somewhere where I feel that my style of football is suitable and can help them and help me rediscover and improve as a player.

“I think it's clear [what he wants to achieve]. We are clearly still in the Champions League; We can go there as far as we can.

“If you don't want to win, you will never win. That will be my main goal and continue to push the competition to become as high as possible.

“I know I can hurt teams. I know that when I play at my best, I can decide with football matches.”

Rashford was able to make his villa debut in the FA Cup on Sunday when they are facing Tottenham.
