Ilia Topuria sends Islam Makhachev chilling threat ahead of rumored super-fight

A confident Ilia Topuria has called his shot with Islam Makhachev.

The undefeated UFC champion featherweight enjoys beating his opponents in their own game, the start of Max Holloway and Alexander Volkanovski and the drafting of Submission artist Bryce Mitchell.

Ilia Topuria does not intend to change his ways, even if it is against the #1 pound-for-pound hunter on the planet in Islam Makhachev, who would reportedly fight later this year.

Leaving its featherweight belt on UFC 314, the UFC star is uncertain about when a super fight could come out of lightweight and said in the summer. Every time, Topuria remains sure that he will be the first man to submit Makhachev in the Octagon.

Ilia Topuria tells Islam Makhachev with which he will subject him

A variety of various submissions on his 16-Fight Record, Topuria says he would choose Makhachev's personal favorite to stop him.

The go-to entry of Makhachev seems to be the d'Arce Choke, which he has submitted Dustin Poirier and Renato Moicano in his last two title defenses.

“I feel that I submit it to the d'Arce,” said Topuria on the PBD podcast.

“Like, which is your favorite? D'Arce? This part I don't joke,” Topuria added.

“I really believe that I subject him to the d'Arce or whatever.

'Tell me, what is your favorite? Don't tell me a heel hook or a B ******* entry

. “

Ilia Topuria: 'It will be even more fun'

Only about half of the 27 career victories of Makhachevers came through submission, the lightweight champion does not show clear weaknesses on the ground. It does not help Topuria that the legendary Khabib Nurmagomedov is in the corner of Makhachev.

Yet Topuria was never known to withdraw, in the middle of the octhoek, ready to stand and act with Max Holloway in the first 10 seconds of their fight on UFC 308 as he said he was going to do.

'La Leyenda' likes a good challenge with Makhachev.

“I think D'Arce of Guillotine,” said Topuria about what Makhachev's favorite entry is.

“If he says so, I will go for that. No problem. It will be even more fun for me …”

Ilia Topuria, a background in Greek-Roman struggles, says that he does not get much credit for his wrestling, and claims that his best skills are on site.
