Matt Serra thinks Ilia Topuria can undo things in the UFC Featherweight Division.
Last month, UFC champion Ilia Topuria surprisingly specified his featherweight title, so that his sentences were set on the stacked weight class above: lightweight.
There are many nice fights for the Topuria of Spain on 155 pounds such as the champion Islam Makhachev or top candidates Justin Gaethje and Dustin Poirier.
The featherweight division behind him, some experts believe that Topuria might jump on the gun with his decision, given which battles were still available to him on 145 pounds after eliminating former champions Alexander Volkanovski and Max Holloway.

Matt Serra calls Ilia Topuria's lightweight movement 'premature'
From a rematch with Alexander Volkanovski to new battles with Diego Lopes and the unbeaten Movsar Evloev, who is planning to chase Topuria, former UFC champion Welterweight and Georges St-Pierre Slayer Matt Serra would have liked the 'Savage' Topuria first.
“I think it will be interesting to see him at the age of 155,” Serra said on the podcast about overogs.
“I would have liked him a little more on 145. I feel that he clearly had some big wins with it [Alexander] Volkanowski and Max Holloway, but I think it might be a bit premature to go up.
'Not that he couldn't [win the lightweight title]I am sure he could do it, but why would you not be fierce and clean up that division even more? “Serra went on.
Matt Serra says that there are 'dangerous' fights for Ilia Topuria in featherweight
“You have Diego Lopes, you have other boys down there who are dangerous. I would have liked to see him fight, “concluded Serra.
#3-GRAGE DIEGO LOPES, 5-1 in the UFC, is the next to the vacant title opposite Alexander Volkanovski on UFC 314. Volkanovski himself has only lost once at 145 pounds, in the hands of Topuria.
Immediately under Lopes in the ranking is the 19-0 Movsar Evloev, who actually defeated Lopes in his UFC debut in 2023.
Evloev had wanted a battle of the unbeaten against Topuria, but for the rest of the featherweight contenders, a fight with the 16-0 champion is no longer on the table.
