Belal Muhammad tried to beat Jack della Maddalena during his own game on UFC 315.

“For us, our strategy was to bring Jack down,” said Muhammad on Remember The Show (H/T: Championship Rounds).
“It was not to blow with them, Brawl-For-Brawl with them.
“It is a strange moment when you train so much and you get better at something. I think my striking so much has grown. When I said that I was not lying over it in the run -up. I could box with them. I could strike them.
“I went outside and I just felt good,” Muhammad continued.
“I still think I'm the best in the world. I had something like that, Bro, I could strike with this guy [and] People come to me and tell me that I can't hit him. '

Muhammad believes that the title fight with Della Maddalena was much closer than what people think, in the conviction that it could have been one round or one exchange.
Yet Mohammed takes the loss on the chin, knowing that he gave it all on the feet instead of on the ground.
“It is clear that we lost the fight, but we stood with him,” Muhammad continued.
“I went against the game plan. I went alone. At the end of the day I will live with that.
“But it came down to one round, perhaps one exchange that the judges could have influenced in a way whether the judges had influenced in this way.
Was my game plan wrong? It could have been the other way, “Muhammad added.
“Could it have been a easier fight? It could have been. But at the end of the day I love to fight.”
