Rayan Cherki does not want to be compared to the “legend” of Manchester City Kevin De Bruyne.
Instead, the French international wants to write his own script in his new club.
Cherki previously came to City from Lyon in June, in a deal reportedly worth £ 34 million (€ 40 million).
The 21-year-old Bolsters Pep Guardiola's attacking midfield options after the departure of Club Great De Bruyne, who moved to Napoli with a free transfer.
Cherki scored a stunning goal in the loss of France against Spain in the final of the Nations League and comes from the back of a fantastic season with Lyon, with 32 target involvement (12 goals, 20 assists) in 44 performances.
But Cherki quickly pointed out that he should not be held against De Bruyne.
“I am not Kevin De Bruyne, he is the legend,” he said, as quoted by BBC Sport.

“I am here to help the team and write my own story. I hope to win the team all the time.
“If you see Rodri, he won the balloon d'or here – it's clear that it is possible with Manchester City and I am here for this.
“When I spoke with Pep, he wanted me. He was very, very clear. Pep told me:” If you have the ball, you're free “, which is very good for me because it's my first quality to help the team.
“The system, the club, the city is very good. I want to win and I think Manchester City wants to win it all.”
Cherki arrived in City together with Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Ait-Nouri, with the trio for the World Cup Club.
City starts their campaign against Wydad AC on Wednesday.
