‘I’m locked up’… Dakota Ditcheva provides an update on her contract status as she responds to calls to join the UFC
Last Friday at the 2024 PFL Championships in Saudi Arabia, Dakota Ditcheva catapulted herself to superstardom after a win over Taila Santos.
Last year, Dakota Ditcheva became the first fighter to win the PFL Europe women's flyweight tournament, taking home $100,000 for her first-round stoppage of Valentina Scatizzi.
With the win, 'Dangerous' Dakota also earned a spot on the global roster and a spot in the regular season, giving her the chance to win $1 million.

Dakota Ditcheva provides an update on her PFL contract status
After battling her way through Lisa Mauldin, Chelsea Hackett and Jena Bishop, Ditcheva found herself in the finals against former UFC flyweight title challenger Taila Santos.
On paper, the Brazilian was her toughest test yet, but once again the 26-year-old powered through whatever stood in her way and finished Santos in the second round.
Ditcheva is now one of the faces of the PFL, and undoubtedly the face of the female division, taking over from Kayla Harrison.
But now that the Brit is one of the best female fighters in the world, there have naturally been calls for her to join the premier promotion, the UFC.
Despite this, the 26-year-old has provided an update on her contract status with the PFL, in response to calls for her to join the UFC.
“I'm locked in with the PFL, I'm definitely going to fight for the PFL next year, especially after I just won this title, that keeps me locked in again, I have to defend it and I don't plan on leaving that belt for a while omitted,” Ditcheva revealed.
“I don't know what the situation is, whether you will see me fighting again in the tournament, or having some big fights. I don't know, we will have to see, but I am definitely with PFL,” she continued.
Ditcheva is leaning towards not participating in the tournament again in 2025
After working so easily for anyone who gets in her way this year, Ditcheva could potentially earn another $1 million next year if she chooses to enter the tournament again.
However, the 26-year-old is looking to enjoy a new challenge and is instead leaning towards fighting in the Super Fight League so she can take on a tougher challenge.
“I just beat the best girl PFL has, the only other person would be Liz Carmouche, so I'm not really interested in going down, I gotta go up and fight better competition… Fighting a big super fight would be there I feel more like people want to see me back in the tournament fighting the same girls.
“Liz Carmouche is probably the only big name, she was a Bellator champion, so I think that's the only one that would make sense at this point, but I'm not sure Santos has beaten her. I don't know what makes sense for me right now,” Ditcheva added.
