'Kung Fu Kid' received his hand lifted in his fourth main event spotlight, but it was a bittersweet victory for him.
Song Yadong debuted in the UFC in the UFC in 2017 and has shown a lot of promise as a 15-Fight Octagon veteran in just 27 years old.
He has confronted with a heavy opposition in the past, but last Saturday evening in Seattle the #8-ranged Bantam weight candidate had a big chance on his hands.
Henry Cejudo seemed to break a two -way slip to achieve his first victory since he returned to the UFC in 2023 when he met Yadong in the Climate Pledge Arena.
On paper, February 22 should be reminded because he was the biggest victory of his career to date, but Song remained behind with some disappointment after the way the fight ended.

Song Yadong says he feels bad for Henry Cejudo after he has lost the fight through a technical decision
After having had a considerable eye chef in the third round, Henry Cejudo decided to continue fighting Song Yadong after taking the full five -minute recovery period.
The fight was then canceled as soon as the fourth round started, which means that the match was determined by a technical decision with all three judges who scored the fight for Yadong at the time of the interruption.
For the Alpha Male Fighter team he just beat a former Bantam weight champion, but he could not enjoy the victory after the way it ended.
Song said in his press conference after the fight that the way of victory had put a damper on the result itself.
“That was completely an accident. I am not so happy with that. It is what it is. I feel bad. I feel bad for Henry. “
One of the biggest talk points about the fight was the decision for Cejudo to keep fighting, which meant that he came out for the fourth round where the game was stopped.
After completing three rounds, it then went to the score cards via a technical decision that would clearly lead to losses for 'Triple C'.
If he had told the referee or doctor during the recovery period that he could not see from the wounded eye, the fight would have been declared a NO match instead of explaining one of the man as the winner.
Song recognized this during his press conference, and added that this is the reason why he is currently feeling empathy towards his opponent.
“I saw that (would have been) a competition, that's why I feel so bad.”
What is the next step for Song Yadong?
In his interview after the fight in the Octagon, Song Yadong suggested a rematch between him and Henry Cejudo, but this was quickly closed by Dana White.
The Chinese hunter also threw in his press conference that he welcomes former champion Sean O'Malley to the Octagon, but this also seems unlikely in view of the gap between them in the ranking.
A rematch with Marlon 'Chito' Vera of their closely disputed 2020 fight over five rounds could be an option, as Rob Font won the same night.
Although Jose Aldo can be arranged in the ranking in different places under him, this would again be a big and exciting place for song, otherwise you look at the top names such as Umar Nurmagomedov.
